Identity Verification

Identity facts, supported by evidence

CAIRL guides a signed-in person through a consented flow using a supported US-issued ID, camera and liveness capture, document processing, and face comparison. A server-authored result can support only the specific claims authorized for a compatible integration.

Features

A bounded evidence flow with explicit outcomes and limits.

Supported US identity evidence

The current v1 scope covers supported US-issued driver’s licenses, state IDs, passports, and passport cards.

Liveness and face comparison

Camera capture, liveness checks, and face comparison contribute evidence to the server-authored decision.

Read-only detail review

A person can review extracted details. If extraction is wrong, the supported correction path is to recapture the document, not edit the fields.

Bounded disclosure

Compatible integrations can receive only consented, scope-authorized claims. Public claim responses do not include raw document images or biometric material.

How It Works

1

Consent and begin

The flow records the required consent before collecting verification evidence.

2

Capture a supported ID

The person captures the required side or sides of a supported US-issued document for processing.

3

Complete camera checks

A selfie, liveness result, and face comparison supply evidence to the verification flow.

4

Review without editing

The person reviews extracted details. Incorrect extraction requires recapture rather than manual field changes.

5

Receive a server-authored result

The durable, point-in-time result is approved, review pending, rejected, or incomplete. Only an approved result can support authorized downstream claims, and method, document, environment, exposure, freshness, and review conditions affect what it can support.
